Allowing yourself to be vulnerable takes courage. There is strength behind choosing to come to therapy. Being mindful about how much you share is wise; we don't want to be judged.
I work from a fully non-judgmental stance. This is not only part of my professional ethical obligations, but it also aligns with my own values-I believe this is the only way meaningful support can be offered.
In therapy, you might feel that you are travelling through unknown territory. Essentially, discomfort is necessary to reach the positive changes we want. Growing pains. Life is never static; you either go forward or backwards, and it is wonderful to have a choice!
Whatever you tell me, I have probably heard it before. I will hold the space for you.
I often tell my clients that the required ingredient for us to work together successfully is -compassion-. After all, you might be your worst enemy when it comes to criticism.
