Allowing yourself to be vulnerable takes courage. Being mindful about how much you share, is wise; we don't want to be judged or lose our reputation.
I have a non-judgemental approach not just because I am professionally bound by strict codes of confidentiality and ethical standards; I can't personally conceive it to be any other way.
In therapy, you might feel that you are travelling through unknown territory. Essentially, discomfort is necessary to reach the positive changes we want. Growing pains. Life is never static; you either go forward or backward, and it is wonderful to have a choice!
Whatever you tell me, I have probably heard it before and will hold the space for you.
I often tell my clients that the required ingredient for us to work together successfully is compassion- after all, you might be your worst enemy when it comes to criticism.
